You know the Angelic Choir that plays when you pop open the hood of a Challenger with a 5.7L Hemi? Well Dodge knows it all too well. In their latest commercial, Richard Rawlings and the boys of Gas Monkey Garage open the hood of a 2014 Dodge Challenger and are greeted by a heavenly light and singing choir produced by the mighty Hemi. Rawlings then “monkeys with” the Hemi, shuts the hood, reopens it and the Crue’s rocking tune Kick Start My Heart blares, along with flashing lights.
The commercial was filmed in honor of Dodge’s 100th Birthday and the fact that Dodge is offering a $1,000 cash bonus to anyone who purchases a 2014 Dodge Challenger or Charger R/T with a Hemi. The 2014 Challenger R/T 100th Anniversary Edition comes equipped with a 5.7L Hemi, which produces 375 horsepower and 410 lb ft of tire smoking torque. Special edition paint, 100th Anniversary badges, and polished chrome wheels make up the exterior. Inside lies white face gauges with the 100 mph mark highlighted in crimson and special 100th Anniversary leather seats. All these features tie together to create the rockinest Challenger yet.
