There is always that moment when off-roading where everyone goes, How’d you do that? How did that happen? Everyone stares at each other dumbfounded. The people off-roading in Dubai are doing that daily.
The video features a Toyota Land Cruiser, with aftermarket wheels, tires and upgraded King shocks. The owner of the vehicle, Ahmad Al Roum, wanted to create an elephant in the desert. He wanted to have a vehicle that when people saw it they looked at it and laughed. They would only laugh until they could see what the Land Cruiser could actually do.
The Land Cruiser is tuned to over 320 horsepower, and has rifle drilled King shocks to create an internal bypass. The shocks absorb not only the large jumps but all the little bumps that are driven over in the sand dunes. They even installed a switch to turn off the automatic airbags, so they would not have any premature detonation while off-roading.
Al Roum has been stuck on the Land Cruiser ever since he got one after a Toyota Hilux. With everyone driving Nissan Patrols, Al Roum wanted to think outside the box and give the middle finger to physics while he is taking his Land Cruiser up and over many things that should not be possible with this vehicle.
Making the most of what you have and being unique is definitely something that Ahmad Al Roum has made his passion. He has created a vehicle that no one else would think of, and puts it through the paces that other vehicles out in the dunes of Dubai would never consider.
