Flaming River: Dual Adjustable Shocks

This video comes to us from “My Classic Car” via YouTube.

Dennis Gage of “My Classic Car” is interviewing Ron Domin, vice president of Flaming River, a company known best for its rack-and-pinion steering parts.

However, this occasion marks the first time the company will manufacture and market a line of suspension products, in this case geared toward drivers who suffer from a bumpy ride in their Chevy or Ford performance cars.

Custom Mount Dual Adjustable Coil-Over Shocks Kit

Partnering with another U.S. company, Flaming River wanted to make these new shocks to address the problems that drivers had.

The showcase displayed the coil-over and smooth shocks, as well as coil-over kits for front-end vehicles.

All parts are proudly made here in the United States, Domin says, and are tested on a dynamometer before release. Also, all of the shocks have dual cylinder absorbers for dual adjustment, with separate knobs for fine-tuning compression and rebound to that just right feel, whether you want it stiff for road racing or loose for dirt track; these dual adjustable shocks don’t discriminate.

19 separate positions offer the shock absorber “over 360 adjustments” to get the chassis to respond perfectly, Domin says. This all equates to a shock absorber that is versatile yet reliable, and will last for a very long time.

Here are some technical features:

  • Lightweight, aluminum twin-tube design with a sleek clear anodized finish
  • Independently adjust the compression and rebound: 19 positions of compression and 19 positions of rebound adjustments allow for a total of 361 different valving combinations
  • Large adjustment range allows for settings for comfortable cruising, to road racing, and everything in between
  • Adjustment knobs clearly labeled with “C” for compression and “R” for rebound
  • Machined aluminum piston with deflective disk technology and a PTFE / bronze piston seal
  • 5/8” centerless ground hard chrome-plated piston rod
  • Advanced three-step sealing system
  • All shocks can be rebuilt or revalved by Flaming River
  • Variety of custom or stock mount styles available
  • Each shock is factory Dyno tested and serialized
  • Installation kits sold separately, and coil-over spring kits also available
  • Made in the USA
