This 1,000 Horsepower Integra…Is this 4 cylinder an exotic killer? Well, after watching last years run against an R8, we think it is (spoiler alert, the Integra beats it). The crew over at 1320video caught up with Driver Myles to discuss the new Integra he brought out this year. Granted, the Integra isn’t new at all, but it has an entirely different motor than last year making for uncertain runs for this years event. However they do have a goal in mind–175 MPH, with 180 mph being “really cool.”
Going over the specs, this new motor is running almost 11:1 compression, different head package, and new GSE cams. Toss in a new turbo, and this beast is really ready for competition. Although it makes slightly less power than last year (1,023 hp versus 994 hp), there is a lot more potential since the 1,023 hp was made with 53lbs of boost while the car is able to pull off 944 hp with only 41lbs. With a lot more headroom for boost (Myles estimates another 15-20lbs at their disposal) the car certainly has better potential for racing this year.
On to the fun part, the Integra takes off down the strip. The first pass reveals a 180 mph! Beating his initial goal, we think there might be more left in the car. After pulling back into the pits, Myles has is grinning while they discuss the pass. “Braking was sketchy, as always” he says not so jokingly. Time for a parachute, we think. Oh, and if you watch until the end, the little Integra pulls off 186 mph pass. Mighty quick, and we really look forward to what this car will pull off with even more boost.
