Around Christmas time we are always looking for the perfect gift for people. It they are techies and always into the latest and greatest things, then sometimes it can be quite difficult to find the right gift for them. So, when we came across this very cool RideController, we had to share.

Ride ControllerRideController lets you control anything wirelessly on your vehicle that runs on an electric switched via their app and control center module. Now, we know what you are thinking, how does it work? Do I need a separate phone line for the car?

The RideController operates by pairing their control module with your phone via Bluetooth. Their control module is low energy so it isn’t going to drain your batteries.

What can you do with this besides open a door that has solenoids?

Their control module has up to 16 individual AMP relays. 16 relays means you can do a lot with this controller. The app is customizable so you really aren’t limited by what you want to control. Want the doors to open, done (if they have solenoids or another electronic device to open). Need the engine started to heat up the truck, done. Headlights on? Yep. Really whatever you are looking to do as long as it  runs on a switch it can be programmed.

According to RideController’s website, ” If you are skilled with wiring this should be no problem for you to install. Otherwise any automotive or custom shop will be able to install following their basic installation instructions.”

Best part is you can customize the label names on the app that you see and each remote control relay can operate as a button or switch. There are lots of possibilities with this application and the techie in you, can certainly take advantage of the flexibility.

So, if you are a techie and looking for the latest products to play around with or make your life easier, then this might need to go on your holiday wish list. It is pretty cool what people can do with their phones now a days. Just wait until the smart watches start becoming more popular.
