We all love Chevrolet for their amazing cars, from old-school classics to modern performance machines, but it’s the extras that Chevy does that makes the company so special. From supporting great causes to reaching out to the community, Chevy does it all and recently they even expanded into the Wonderful World of Disney. But that doesn’t mean their latest project is just for kids. Rather it’s for the kids at heart, no matter your age. Check out how Chevrolet partnered with Disney to re-imagine the Test Track at Disney’s Epcot theme park in the above.

The Disney Test Track may just be as close as any normal human being will get to being a test dummy. When the ride first opened, you weaved through robotic displays and test dummies before being strapped into a car that went through all the simulated tests that a typical car goes through, including cold-weather testing, chemical testing, and of course, high-speed accelerations. At the end of the ride, you had survived being a test subject and could look over exhibits like a futuristic prototype.
But Chevy wanted Disney vacationers to experience more from the development standpoint. So with new additions to the ride, you’re not only a test dummy, you’re also a car designer.
New additions to the attraction include displays portraying the future of Chevrolet, as well as vehicles that are currently available. You’ll also get a chance to get hands on and see what it’s like to help design a car by picking out features that are most important to you, from efficiency to power and anything in between.
To make this possible, Chevy actually brought Disney Imagineers to their facilities, starting 18 months ago, to allow them to experience some of the design and engineering aspects of Chevrolet firsthand. As a team with Chevy, the magical minds behind Disney then helped create a more interactive attraction around their existing Test Track.
The results are fun for the whole family.
The Disney Test Track presented by Chevrolet officially opened on December 6th at Walt Disney World in Florida, and is already attracting young and old kids alike. Check out the new and improved Disney Test Track in the video below, compliments of GM News.
