Can-Am Maverick X3 Max Jumps Into Four-Seat Side-By-Side Market

Maverick X3 - Family 4

The side-by-side market within the last few years has blown up. Manufacturers have also realized the need to bring the whole family along for the adventure. Can-Am just announced their jump into the four-seat side-by-side market with the all-new Maverick X3 Max.

The aggressive styling, power, and suspension from Maverick X3 all made their way into the new four-seater. The Maverick X3 Max features a high-performance TTX suspension with recalibrated FOX shocks, a fully welded, and high-rigidity steel chassis.

The Maverick X3 two-seater has been making waves in the side-by-side market since it came out, will the X3 Max follow?

“The 2017 Can-Am Maverick X3 Max side-by-side vehicle builds upon the industry-altering advancements achieved with the two-seat Maverick X3 unveiled last year by delivering new levels of performance, handling and passenger comfort to the four-seat segment of the market,” explained Anne-Marie LaBerge, senior vice president, Global Brands, Marketing and Communications at BRP. “It positions Can-Am to meet market demands for a clear leader in the four-person sport segment and adheres to our forward-thinking approach when it comes to innovation, design and refining the consumer experience.”

Rear passenger ergonomics are taken to new levels, as the rear Ergoprint seats sit on the same level as the front seats and offer four-way adjustability and more seat pitch. Strategically positioned performance footrests, grab bars and levels of roominess in the Ergo-Lok cockpit, as well as a wheelbase that is 15-percent longer than what is currently on the market, which enhances the riding experience for rear occupants.

Can-Am took into consideration the ride quality for the rear passengers. No matter if you are up front or in the rear you should expect a great ride.

This side-by-side fatures trophy-truck-inspired four-link TTX rear suspension and recalibrated, premium Fox shocks supplying 22 inches of rear travel (Maverick X3 Max X rs). Front arched A-arms provide up to 14-inch of ground clearance, while a full HMW (high-molecular weight) skid plate protects the underside of the vehicle. A high-rigidity chassis, made from fully welded DP980 steel, delivers precise handling, stiffer torsion, and exceptional strength.

The Can-Am Maverick X3 Max side-by-side vehicle has 154 hp at 7,500 rpm and 113 lb-ft of torque at 7,000 rpm. Power comes from an inline triple-cylinder, turbocharged and intercooled Rotax ACE 900 cc engine. The power plant is located in the rear of the chassis, resulting in lower cockpit noise, vibration, and heat. It also has iridium spark plugs, which provide improved combustion, longer life, and lower maintenance.
