When The Fast and The Furious was released in 2001 it added fuel to an emerging trend in the automotive realm: the tuning and customization of imports.
Sure all this inspiration to make cars faster and express one’s self came with a dash of illegal activities such as street racing and loitering in parking lots. Even with all the unwanted police attention some enthusiasts still pursued the lifestyle that the movie portrayed.
With the untimely passing of Paul Walker who was killed November 30, 2013 while riding in a Porsche Carrera GT, fans of the Furious movies will watch the seventh installment with heavy hearts. Filming was only half way completed at the time of Walker’s passing so, after a script rewrite, his brothers Caleb and Cody served as stand-ins to complete the film. Furious 7 picks up after Fast & Furious 6 with bad guy Deckard Shaw (Jason Statham) out to avenge his brother’s death near the end of the last movie. His target Dominic Toretto (Vin Diesel).
Plot and storyline have had their ups and downs in the 14 years since the first film, but the automotive eye candy is undeniable… poor CG in Tokyo Drift not withstanding… so it should be cool to see what the crew has in store for their seventh go around. Furious 7 is set to release in April of 2015.
