If the 1970 Chevelle is the ultimate Chevrolet muscle car, this impressive 1970 Chevelle must be the ultimate Chevrolet resto-mod! Offered to the highest bidder on Bring a Trailer, this Chevy backs 6.2 liters of exquisite LT4 power with a plethora of modern components that are sure to provide plenty of 21st-century athleticism. And as you can see, brilliant Fathom Blue paint joins crisp White vinyl to wrap all those go-fast goodies in timeless, old-school style.
The car’s epic transformation from classic muscle king to rowdy resto-mod began with a detailed, 2-year restoration that was completed in early 2025. The brawny LT4 rides nicely in front of a slick Tremec TKX 5-speed that’s built with an effortless hydraulic clutch and a tough Quick Time bellhousing. Behind that transmission, a 9-inch housing spins 3.55 gears and 31-spline axles inside an Eaton Truetrac differential. That drivetrain rides a full Roadster Shop chassis, which incorporates power rack-and-pinion steering and a 4-link rear suspension between adjustable Fox coil-overs. And at the corners, 4-piston Baer calipers clamp drilled and slotted rotors with the help of CPP HydraStop hydraulics.
Under the hood, GM’s legendary LT4 has been cleanly integrated into the car’s decades older engine bay with the help of an open element air cleaner and ceramic coated long-tube headers. Everything stays cool thanks to an aluminum Griffin radiator and SPAL puller fans. Exhaust flows through 3-inch pipes that are complete with an X-shaped crossover and tough Magnaflow mufflers. And other mechanical niceties include a stainless fuel tank and billet Eddie Motorsports hood supports.
Inside the car, bolstered TMI buckets wear radiant White vinyl between crisp door panels and clean black carpet that’s protected by Chevelle-themed floor mats. A familiar console frames a requisite Hurst shifter. A convenient tilt steering column spins a Budnik G10 wheel in front of a full suite of Dakota Digital telemetry. Vintage Air climate control keeps occupants happy while Custom Autosound audio bumps Kenwood speakers keep them rocking out.
What really rocks, though, is the car’s traditional Fathom Blue paint and classic Super Sport stripes. A handsome look no doubt enhanced by 20-inch Forgeline wheels, which wear 245/40 Firestone Firewhawk meats in front of 285/35 Firestone Firehawk meats. And dark-tint glass and subtle LT4 SUPERCHARGED badging round out this Chevy’s visual sizzle.
Looking for a razor-sharp resto-mod that blends raw vintage attitude with cutting-edge performance? From its supercharged LT4 to its Fathom Blue pigment, this Chevy is a stunning example of what happens when old-school cool meets modern engineering.
