This incredible ZR1, named Wicked, flew down the runway as if it were fired from the barrel of an M1 Garand. The ZR1 was racing in the Runway Rivalry where it dominated a field of high speed cars made up of twin turbo Supra’s, V-10 Vipers and a few other hardcore Corvettes down in Dallas. Despite being fast cars in their own right, the other cars didn’t stand a chance as this white devil is pushing over 1000 horsepower.

Wicked’s power is achieved through a secret combination of parts that were created over time by the current owner and its two previous owners. The combo involves an assortment of parts including a fully rebuilt LS9 stroker motor from LMR, performance headers, a mid pipe and a ported blower. A hidden shot of nitrous is also said to be hooked up to the LS9. The owner says if he a had a slightly bigger blower, Wicked would make around 1200 horsepower.

The racing at the Runway Rivalry was not your standard form of drag racing, instead it was a legal style of roll racing. The cars would line up at the end of the strip were they would be signaled by a flag man to start. They would begin driving for a distance and approaching a yellow light, and when the light turned green they would launch from a rolling start.

Wicked ZR1 was built to dominate highway roll races and it’s no surprise it destroyed the pack here in Texas. Expect to see more of this machine in the future. We have a feeling Wicked is going to find its way into the spotlight in several roll racing events.
