The Hot Rod market has been one of the largest growing segments in the modern automotive aftermarket. Factory Five Racing, always quick to pick up on a fast-moving trend, has developed a stunning Speedstar Coupe, based on a Ridler Award-winning design, that will be available early in 2020.   

Factory Five’s Dave Smith tells us the Speedstar Coupe will be as good to drive as it looks, due in large part to the Factory Five performance Hot Rod chassis underneath.

The Speedstar Coupe is the result of a combination of the Factory Five performance chassis with technology and design from Rat’s Glass Bodies, a company that was acquired by Factory Five last year. The body’s new shape is the first result of that acquisition.

For all intended purposes, the Speedstar is a 2nd Generation 1933 Hot Rod chassis with a Speedstar body. As Dave Smith points out, the 1933 Hot Rod chassis was debuted at the SEMA show 10 years ago. “The same performance chassis is found under our ’35 Hot Rod Truck, and now under this beautiful Speedstar body.”

The complete Speedstar kit is available with several options and is designed specifically for small-block V8 power. Powerplant options include Ford 289/302/351 Windsor, Ford 4.6 2- or 4-valve engines, Ford 4.6 3-valve or 5.0 Coyote engines, Chevy LS engines, or the traditional Gen I small-block Chevy engine.
