Modern Focus RS owners looking to take their hot hatches to that next level of EcoBoost performance will be happy to hear that Turbonetics has debuted a new turbo upgrade for the 2.3-liter engine.

This upgrade is so unique because it is a direct-replacement turbo that can be installed and run with the stock tune. The new turbo utilizes the Focus RS’ factory oil and water lines and replaces the stock 52mm turbo and bumps it up to an impressive 60mm!

“The Turbonetics drop-in turbo upgrade for the Ford Focus RS features dual ball bearings, a billet compressor wheel and features our NX2 compressor aerodynamics,” Reggie Wynn, of Turbonetics, said. “The turbo is going to be good for up to 700 horsepower and is a true drop-in replacement. You don’t have to use any adaptors or flanges, and it utilizes the factory oil and water lines.”

Even though you are able to run the larger turbo on a stock Focus RS, the design team at Turbonetics/Precision Turbo does recommend running a custom tune to get the most of out the new turbo upgrade.

If your next build requires keeping the engine bay symmetrical, the company also debuted the new Precision Turbo Mirror-Image turbo setup. The turbos are available in 62/66, 64/66, and 76/75 sizes and feature Gen 2 aerodynamics. The mirror image turbos are a universal fit and can be installed on a variety of late model performance vehicles.
