SEMA 2016: BluePrint Engines Partners With Factory 5

If you’re building a kit car, chances are it’s becuase you want a classic design (or something exotic) that you can spec out to your own liking. Being able to take an iconic design and update it for the modern enthusiast often entails an engine swap, getting away from cold-blooded carbureted engines or underpowered and heavy mills.

IMG_5073BluePrint Engines has announced here at that 2016 SEMA show, a new partnership with Factory 5 as powerplant supplier for customer spec’d kit cars.

“BluePrint Engines is always growing and trying to expand in any way possible. One of our employees actually owns a Factory 5 kit car that we put one of our 427 engines in, and he absolutely loves it,” prefaced Blake Prusia of BluePrint Engines.IMG_5071

“We talked to them about a partnership where we match a powerplant with each model. We’ve been able to supply a full system from the pulleys back to the tail shaft. The customer specifies what model they have and then there are several different options they can pick from.”

BluePrint Engines’ offerings extend to most of the Factory 5 line of cars. So if you’re building a GTM, Cobra, Daytona Prototype, or Roadster or anything else needing V8 power, they can fill the engine compartment.IMG_5072

“When they are building the car they tell us when they’re ready for the engine, we build it for them and we’re 45 days out from delivery,” Prusia explained.

Of course the options for Ford and Chevy-based powerplants include various dress-up packages — for customers wishing to go a little further on the performance side of placing an order BluePrint Engines can work one-on-one to develop a unique package to suit their project.IMG_5075
