SEMA 2016: ARH’s Newest Headers For The Off-Road And Truck Markets

For the past decade American Racing Headers has been in the business of producing high quality stainless steel headers and exhaust systems for performance builds and automotive enthusiasts across the globe. When we checked out the company’s booth at the 2016 SEMA Show, we were met by ARH co-founder and CEO, Nick Filippides, who ran us through two of their newest additions to the truck and off-road enthusiast market.

For those of you who enjoy being able to go anywhere, but slowly, Filippides introduced us to ARH’s 304-stainless steel long-tube header for the inline-six TJ Jeep Wrangler and similar year Jeep Cherokee’s, guaranteed to get you where you need to go a little faster with as much as a 20 horsepower increase, without any tuning.

ARH's complete long-tube header system for the 1998 to 2006 Jeep Wrangler (TJ).

“We have seen a countless number of Jeep’s come through our shop with cracked headers or exhaust pipes, and we recently had a 2005 TJ come  into our shop for some other work and I said, ‘Do you know what? Let’s make some headers for the inline-six while we’re at it,'” says Filippides. “This header has a rotational firing tube routing for increased horsepower and torque, heavy wall tubing to stabilize the exhaust temperature to prevent cracking, can be ordered with a 200-cell catalytic converter or catless, and even bolts right up to the factory cat-back if needed.”

Filippides then walked us over to the full exhaust system for the 2006 and up Toyota Tundra. “This was initially designed as a full exhaust system, but we decided to allow the cat-back exhaust to be purchased separately to better suit the individual needs of our customers,” explains Filippides. “These 304-stainless steel long-tube headers are available with either 1 3/4-inch or 1-7/8-inch primaries, includes the EGR J-pipe for emissions compatibility, and can be ordered with or without catalytic converters.”

“The 3-inch diameter cat-back exhaust provides more than enough airflow through our Pure Thunder-series mufflers and out of the 3.5-inch exhaust tips,” states Filippides. “Simply bolting the full system onto your Tundra will generate at least an additional 35 horsepower at the wheels.”
