Out to set a new standard in brake upgrades for the Jeep Wrangler JK with its new ProGrip Brake System, Dynatrac designed its new front and rear brake kits to provide improvement during off-road and highway driving. “Through our fully instrumented testing using a JK with a four-inch lift and 37-inch tires to simulate what the real-world Jeep enthusiast community is doing, we found as much as a 30-percent improvement in stopping distances,” commented Cole Quinnel, media relations and marketing consultant for Dynatrac.
“The new Dynatrac ProGrip Brake System comes with rotors that are larger than the OE provides for the front and rear. The front set are 13.5-inch rotors, and the rear brakes in our new system are 14.25-inch rotors. As well, Dynatrac spent a lot of time testing different types of pad upgrades to get better stopping power and exactly the right braking dynamics.
The Dynatrac ProGrip Brake System (left) retains the factory calipers, but moves them farther out from the axle's center using larger rotors, as well as adding upgraded brake pads. This cutaway (right) shows off the new brake system's Pillar Vent Cooling feature.
“Our kits retain the factory calipers, so the job is easier and much cleaner since you don’t have to open the brake system’s hydraulics and go through the hassle of bleeding the brakes once you have completed installing the Dynatrac system. Moving the calipers (thus, the clamping force) farther from the axle centerline, allowed us to gain a significant amount of braking performance, and the brake pedal feel and travel is improved.”
The Dynatrac ProGrip Brake System is a direct bolt-on for 2007-2015 Jeep Wranglers, and will fit Jeep Wranglers with 17-inch wheels (wheel spacers are required with 17-inch factory wheels). The system will fit inside nearly all aftermarket wheels without spacers. For all the details, check out Dynatrac.com or call (714) 596-4461.
