Video: McLaren 720S vs Hellcat vs Huracan vs GT-R vs Corvette ZR1!

Behold! The mother-load of drag racing extravaganzas! An asinine amount of power and performance all neatly packed within the folds of an eleven minute video segment. Featuring a McLaren 720S as the star, the British supercar goes toe-to-toe with a modified Dodge Hellcat,  a Lamborghini Huracan, a bolt-on-equipped Nissan Skyline GT-R, and a 2019 Corvette ZR1. It’s a drag racing montage that pretty much has become “The Expendables” of YouTube race videos, where all the action stars make an appearance in order to kick a little ass down the track.

RUN 1: McLaren 720S vs Dodge Hellcat

On paper it would look like the nearly 1,000-horsepower, Whipple-equipped Hellcat would completely trounce the McLaren. But the British supercar’s lightweight design, superior traction settings, and 710-horsepower twin-turbo V8 rocket the machine to the finish line well-ahead of the Hellcat.

RUN 2: McLaren 720S vs Lamborghini Huracan

Supercar vs supercar. This next round seems to be far more of a fair fight right off the bat. At least, all the way up until the flag drops and the winner emerges leading by a long-shot.

RUN 3: McLarten 72S vs Nissan GT-R

From supercar shootout, to an all-orange attack on the tarmac, the McLaren moves on to battle its next foe: A 2017 Nissan Skyline GT-R with an array of basic bolt-ons running on E85. The vehicle’s owner may have claimed that his all-wheel drive “Godzilla” made around 650 to the wheels, but when the dust settled Japan’s biggest lizard was no match for the McLaren.

RUN 4: McLaren 720S vs Corvette ZR1

Circling back around to American muscle, and looking damn good at that, comes the latest incarnation of the iconic Corvette ZR1. It may have launched hard and gotten the jump on the McLaren, but the mid-engine mechanical masterpiece from across the pond pounded its way back into the race, earning it the title of fastest car at the track that day. Even with a rolling start rematch from 40 mph the stock ZR1 stood zero chance of keeping up with the McLaren, further proof that the British supercar’s steep asking price is well-worth the additional coin.
