This Daily Driven Street Sleeper Boasts Four-Digit Credentials

This 2016 Mustang GT is no ordinary daily driver. Behind the sleek black exterior lies a 1,000-horsepower drivetrain that will push the 4,000-pound car with ease. It’s no trailer queen, it really does hit the pavement every day for a commute. And when it’s not commuting, it’s laying down mid-9-second times at the track.

On top of everything else, this car really is a sleeper. From the outside it looks tough, but not 1,000-horsepower tough!

The folks over at Boost Works put this beast together and the owner, Travis Burelle, details the work they did in the video above. It’s definitely worth a watch to see the car in action and hear it’s sound on the dyno.

Boost Works built the car with its 1,200-horsepower package. The package includes a 3.2-liter Kenne Bell supercharger with liquid-cooler technology, and a Mammoth intake manifold.

“This car does make in excess of 1100-horsepower to the wheels on pump E85,” Travis says in the video. “It runs the quarter mile in mid- to low-9-seconds at the 145 to 150 mile-per-hour range.”

The car is driven daily and set up for streetability. Travis credits Lund Racing‘s ability to provide tuning so that they can take a car like this with so much power and drive it on the road. It’s still a handful, but a heck-of-a-lot of fun to drive. .

Looks just as good inside as it does outside.

At it’s core, this is really an ideal commuter for someone that wants to get from point-A to point-B Monday through Friday, and drive straight to the track after work any day of the week to lay down some 9-second runs. It does not sacrifice comfort and drivability for power. We wouldn’t mind having this in our garage, what about you?
