The dust down the Baja peninsula may have settled, but the memories and the highlights of the 50th SCORE Baja 1000 keep rolling in. Monster Energy made a huge presence in the Baja 1000 and many other off-road events, but this time we get a look behind the scenes at what it takes to compete in the Baja 1000.

For Monster Energy drivers Cameron Steele, Casey Currie, Tim and Troy Herbst, and BJ Baldwin the race would not only test the team but also their trucks. The no. 19 Terrible Herbst truck and BJ’s no. 97 would both fall early due to mechanical failures.

The rest of the Monster Energy team pushed down the peninsula towards the finish line in La Paz. This year’s course was supposed to be set up to allow more people to finish, but as a couple of the Monster Energy drivers explained in the video, this year’s race was far from that.

Plenty of 100 mph flat sections and hundreds of miles of whoops left finishing position up in the air. In the end, it was Apdaly Lopez finishing first with Cameron Steele on his heels. The no. 91 truck would finish the race 6th overall.
