Ever wonder where the Ford GT is born? Forza Motorsports takes us on a semi-private tour of the factory floor at Multimatic in Markham, Ontario, Canada, with Alan Hartman, head of Turn 10 Studios, and Dave Garcia, Vehicle Art Director for Forza Motorsports.

This factory is where they actually hand build each Ford GT from the ground up! These cars are works of art and the factory is just about as cool as cool as you would have guessed.

One thing that really stands out is their quality control spec station that is a large booth lit by several dozen bright-white fluorescent lights. Every angle of the car is clearly visible and the craftsmen are able to look back over their work to make sure everything is built to the highest standards. That, and it almost looks like a massive teleporter from a sci-fi fantasy movie, like Star Trek. It offers a great physical representation of the birth of a true supercar.

“As you can tell, compared to a normal assembly plant, there aren’t a lot of machines or robots here,” Henry Ford III, Global Marketing Manager for Ford Performance, explained to Alan and Dave about the production process. “Just about everything is hand-built… It’s a labor-intensive process, but it’s a labor of love.”

Beyond just getting a glimpse at the mechanical operation, it’s really cool to get to see the painting process and get to see the people that are behind building your car. It’s nothing like your average assembly plant and that is evident in the quality of the car.
