Driving on snow and ice is treacherous for most drivers, but then there are those who use the winter months as an opportunity to race against the elements. Drifting cars around a snow-covered track is no easy feat, but it is incredible to see someone take a Ford GT40 out on the frozen course.

This borderline off-road event pitted the yellow GT40 against the drifting Impala of Joakim Ringeli on the race course in Norway. He is known for drifting the full size ’64 at various Norwegian race courses, but it is impressive to watch the battle of old-school land yacht versus supercar. Although the ’64 handles the course with ease, the roost of snow is impressive as the Ford hits the straightaway.

Most people are terrified of what the elements can do their classic car, let alone a supercar. Snow and ice typically result in the use of road salt or other chemicals to clear the road as well as result in the destruction of cars. Obviously, this course was not subject to ice clearing chemicals, but the potential for carnage would be enough to scare away most supercar owners.

However, the driver of the GT40 appears to be unconcerned with the weather or damage to the iconic supercar. As the driver negotiates the course, it seems as though the GT40 was designed for drifting through the snow. The picturesque background and the use of a GT40 makes this video appear to be more video game than actual video.
