SEMA 2016: Tuff Stuff Shows Up With More Tough Stuff At Vegas

Tuff Stuff’s high amp clocked alternators, alternator fan and pulley kits were on center display in the Tuff Stuff booth.

The company that has long used the catch phrase, “Our chrome will get you home,” has expanded well beyond that catchy marketing hook. At this year’s industry trade show in Las Vegas, Tuff Stuff Performance’s Mike Stasko showed us some of the latest items from the top shelf accessory manufacturer.

Tuff Stuff also unveiled their new Stealth Black finish.

“Our high amp clocked alternators are the most recent development,” said Stasko. “These are high amp alternators that can be  used on virtually all applications including all 1971 through 1986 GM vehicles.” Stasko also explained these alternators could be used as a three wire OE style hook-up or a one-wire electrical connection due to their internal custom voltage regulator.

“You tell us what vehicle and we’ll clock the alternator so that the mounting position is correct,” he explained. “We have 182 different part numbers currently and adding more each day.”

Tuff Stuff’s clocked alternators come with larger copper windings that produce more amps at idle and cruising. “More than any alternator of its kind,” said Stasko.

With 25 to 30 new part numbers for fan and pulley kits, there is sure to be a finish and design for everyone.

Also new from the manufacturer is a wide selection of alternator fan and pulley kits. “These are available in chrome, polished aluminum, as cast, and our new stealth black finish,” he added.

The billet aluminum fan, pulley and bullet nose kits are designed to fit the Tuff Stuff 10SI and SC130 alternators. The pulley and bullet nose kits also fit the 10DN and CS130 alternators.

The fan and pulley kits fit GM 10SI and CS130 alternators and finally, the individual pulleys fit Tuff Stuff 10SI, 10DN, CS130, and the Hy-Brid alternators. Currently there are 25-30 different new part numbers for these pulleys and kits.
