There are few modern tuners which have captured the public’s imagination quite as well as Mr. Nakai and his Porsche-centric speed shop, Rauh Welt. Nakai-san has made a name for himself by turning road-going 911s into cars that evoke all the athleticism and rawness of the classic RSR racecars, but in a modern package. His cars have sold across the world, and each machine requires Nakai-san to do the installation – which requires the man from Japan to do quite a bit of flying.
Based off a 993 Carrera, this build pays homage to the wise panther Bagheera from Rudyard Kipling’s The Jungle Book. With wider fenders, bumpers and a rear spoiler in the style of the 993 GT2, this beast packs a serious visual punch.
Those blister fenders are filled with enormous Work wheels with nearly a foot of lip, and the stark black color scheme is only occasionally broken by a turquoise accent. Color aside, what’s most impressive is how this kit accentuates the natural lines of the car in a way that makes it both aggressive and sophisticated, but that’s why Nakai-san is paid to give a few select, vintage Porsches his treatment.

The bulbous, almost elegant stylings of the 993 are exaggerated by the tasteful but aggressive look of the RWB kit.
Chain smoking and talking feverishly, the diminutive man exudes a nervousness and an undiluted passion when discussing the machinery he’s involved with. Though his shop originally serviced drift cars and focused on the Toyota AE86, his current stable is purely air-cooled and German, and that’s the way it’ll likely stay.
He’s cultivated an incredible following that sends him on sixty flights a year – and it’s fair to assume that he’s living quite comfortably off his Porsche-influenced visions.
