We are counting down the Top 50 hot rods and street cars of all time that have made an appearance in a television series, or a memorable television episode. Starting from No. 50, and counting down to our No. 1 pick, follow along with our memories, and see where your favorite show lands.

44. Magic City: 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special

Oh, the cars on this show! There are way too many to choose from to decide which we admire most. In the end, the Cadillac Fleetwood got our vote to appear on the countdown for its on-screen cameos as well as for those who could afford to own such luxury.

Airing just one year, from 2012-2013, the series is set in Miami Beach, Florida in the late 1950s – which is a feast for automotive enthusiasts. Set in a backdrop of wealth, notoriety, and fame, the cars reflect these characteristics as an extension of the men and women who drive them. In fact, each car on the show was carefully selected for the specific characters on the show, meaning the cars reflect their personalities, which we think is awesome!

The Cars Of  Magic City:

Making its first appearance in the opening of season two, we are introduced to the ’57 Caddy as a ride belonging to Miami mob boss Ben Diamond, played by Danny Huston (no one had a bigger car than the top dog). As blockbuster entertainers bring their entourages to upscale resorts as a playground of the rich and famous, Miami’s darker side erupts with tales of drugs, strippers, racial dissent, gangsters, and cars.

What do we dislike most about the television program “Magic City?” The gorgeous, sleek, black 1957 Cadillac Fleetwood 60 Special is blown up in its series finale!

According to Hagerty, the Sixty Special sat on a 133-inch wheelbase with an overall length of 224.4 inches – nearly 19 feet! A four-door pillarless hardtop, it was equipped with an eight-cylinder, 365 cubic inch engine with a four-barrel carburetor that made 300 horsepower. At a curb weight of 4,755 pounds, it needed that muscle under the hood to move all that Detroit GM steel. Prices for the opulent Cadillac of Cadillacs started at $5,539 with 24,000 cars sold in this model year.
