The Forza brand of racing simulations burst onto the scene relatively recently, but it has already garnered a massive and devoted fan base for its devotion to real-world physics and a wide array of exotic cars to pilot. But while Forza has all but perfected the art of on-road racing simulations, the latest release of Forza Horizons takes players into uncharted territory, and we mean that in the literal sense.

The recently released trailer for Forza Horizons 3 shifts from street and track racing to Australia’s Outback, giving players a chance to take trophy trucks and off-road exotics through the diverse topography of the Land Down Under.

Not only is the virtual “sandbox” twice the size to play in, it’s also twice as diverse according to developers Turn 10 and Playground Games. This includes more off-road driving sets that feature desert sand dunes to launch you into the air and fast-moving rivers that you’ll have to ford. The developers focused on improving suspension and tire dynamics as a part of Forza 3, seeking to offer the most realistic driving experience across over 350 vastly different vehicles.

Speaking of vehicles, Forza Horizons 3 will bring many old favorites, as well as lots of new faces, to the Xbox One and PC when it arrives this September. This includes the recently revealed Lamborghini Centenario, the 2017 Ford Raptor, and the Ariel Nomad extreme off-roader. B.J. Baldwin’s trophy truck and Penhall’s Cholla Class 10 racing buggy.

It’s a big, brave new world to explore in Forza Horizons 3, and this time around you’ll be able to blaze your own path through the Outback. Forza Horizons 3 will be available September 27 for the Xbox One and PC.
