Jamboree is the event to be at if you’re in Australia! The event is comprised of a massive car show, a dyno competition, babes and bikini contests, tech talks, motorcycle stunt shows, and vendors with their products on display. However, FullBoost‘s video focuses solely on the drag racing portion of the event, but hey, we don’t mind at all!
This is the first year that Jamboree took place at Calder Park in Melbourne. Racers, shops, and enthusiasts brought out their vehicles to run in the competition, and the vehicles were nothing less than awesome. The drag racing scene is huge out in Australia, but then again, they have a variety of great cars and engines that we don’t have the ability to obtain in the states. Rotary power is widely popular over there, and this video showcases some of the baddest two, three, and four rotor machines to turn a tire on pavement.
There was also a fair share of older Holdens at the event with Nissan RB engines or powerful Ford 4.0-liter straight-six engines, and there were even some sweet Pro Mod cars running insane times, with even crazier engines. One of our favorite cars in the video was Mark Jacobson’s R35 GT-R Pro Mod. It looks awesome with those huge slicks tucked under the body, and the Lamborghini Verde Ithaca paint, or wrap, really makes the car stand out. Unfortunately, the car was plagued with problems that day and he didn’t get a good run in.
If you have the chance to make it to one of the few Jamboree events that take place throughout the year, definitely go check it out! We wish we could make it out there to cover one!
