This is a home grown video of some real commando style urban drifting in Japan. The weapon of choice is street drift prepped S-chassis. It takes about 50 seconds to set the stage then the Silvia can be seen hot lapping in different locales. There are some tandem drifts when the Silvia finds a friend, some wild antics on a tight section of touge road, and a narrow escape from police. The drifters pull away with seconds to spare just as the police, with sirens blaring, are coming on the opposing traffic lane of a divided two lane thoroughfare. The video concludes with a sweet four-car tandem.
Drifting on the street is dangerous, may we suggest Drift Matsuri (festival) at Ebisu Circuits. There are three weekends of matsuri per year at Ebisu, dubbed Drift Heaven Weeks but the track is open all the time. In previous years Ebisu has welcomed visitors from, France, Holland, Finland, Ireland, Cyprus, USA, UK, Australia, Dominican Republic, Russia, Singapore, as well as many Japan based foreigners too. Top class international drivers are a common sight at Ebisu, with top names such as Chris Forsberg, Frederic Aasbo, Paul Vlasblom (Netherlands), Christian Pickering (Australia), Julian Smith (Ireland) and Jhonnattan Castro (Dominican Republic) to name just a few. But visitors can schedule there on quality time at the facility or just attend an open track day. This a bucket list experience for any enthusiast.
