Exotics Racing is known for offering supercar track experiences in Los Angeles and Las Vegas, and now they’re starting a spec racing series open to both professional and amateur drivers.
The car that Matt Farrah is driving in the video above is known as the EXR-LV02. This 1,600-pound a tube chassis racer is powered by a 2.0-liter, four-cylinder engine that produces a stout 240 hp, and channels that power to the rear wheels via a SADEV six-speed sequential gearbox. The EXR-LV02, known in the UK as the Mitjet 2L, has a fiberglass body that can easily be replaced, and comes in a variety of designs. The cars that Exotics Racing has for their series look to be outfitted with smaller Audi A5 DTM-style body, which is quite appealing if you ask us.
The whole idea behind the EXR Racing Series is to arrive and drive; the car, crew, fuel, and other essentials are provided for the driver, and all there is to do is show up. However, before the customer sets foot in the EXR-LV02, they undergo a series of coaching lessons to ensure they have the best racing experience possible. The program for the enthusiast with little to no track time under their belt includes a classroom theory session, braking exercises, skid pad training, corner breakdown studies, 7 laps in a supercar with a coach, 18 laps in an EXR-LV02, and onboard video and data to review after the session.
For more experienced drivers, there is a three-day licensing program that teaches the same things as the introductory course, and then some. There are also courses for drivers that want to evaluate their current performance with a professional driver and improve from there. The EXR Racing Series consists of sprint and endurance races that will take place at the Las Vegas Motor Speedway, Miller Motorsports Park, Laguna Seca, and the California Speedway.
As the enthusiast isn’t required to campaign a full race schedule in the EXR Racing Series, the experience would be a great gift, a useful tool to learn the ropes of sportscar racing, or brush up on current driving techniques. Exotics Racing is definitely going somewhere with the arrive-and-drive racing experience, and we like it. Visit the EXR Racing Series website for more info on how you can get some seat time.
