Thanks to the guys at of Australia, we’ve had the privilege of seeing some pretty fast LS swapped Nissan Skylines which compete in the Australian Drifting Grand Prix (ADGP).

If you’re not familiar with the ADGP, we’ll give you a short rundown on it. It’s the largest drift racing series in Australia, and is the equivalency to our Formula Drift series.

We know some of you may be cringing at the sight of these Lamborghini-style doors which were previously on the car.

The ’98 R34 Skyline pictured above is one of three revisions this car went through over a decade, with the last being a turbocharged LS1 swapped drift car build. Originally built as a show car, owner Kris Frome, decided on the last revision for the car back in 2012.

In search of more power, Frome decided a larger-displacement engine was the most efficient route to increase power.

The final revision included swapping a stock 5.7 liter LS1 V8 and Tremec T56 6-speed manual transmission mated to a custom driveshaft, creating a purpose-built drift car. After the completion of the swap, forged internals from SP Automotive Engineering and a custom Garrett GT45 turbocharger kit built by 999 Automotive would find its way onto the car. The combination is good for over 600 rear-wheel horsepower on a low boost setting.

With all the new power thanks to a turbocharged LS1 swapped V8, do you think the owner has committed brand sin, or this a huge win?
