From its Pulse Performance Race Engineering (PPRE) 26b quad rotor engine, to its hand fabricated tuned length headers and 3.5-inch stainless exhaust, Mad Mike’s 1996 FD3 Mazda RX7 is just plain awesome. This thing literally screams at what we can only guess sounds like over 9,000 rpm while drifting down the track during the hill climb event at Goodwood Festival of Speed, so what’s not to love about this video?
The Rocket Bunny kit really sets off the look of this 1996 FD3 Mazda RX7
If you’re highly interested in the car like we were, here’s a few details on Mike’s current setup from his website. The exterior is a Rocket Bunny FD3S Kit, Custom CRE8GRAFX livery, and a SARD 3d wing. Suspension includes TEIN Super Drift equipped with EDFC, Custom steering arms, Custom tierods, Megan Racing toe arms rear, Mod fire wall & chassis for steering clearance, Cut rear quarters for wheel clearance, and a D2 Air Jack setup. The wheels are WORK Equips 18-11 front and WORK Meister 18-12 rear wrapped in Nitto’s NT05 with 235/40R18 fronts and 265/35R18 rears.
The driveline consists of an HKS sequential 6-speed, HKS PRO2 twin plate clutch, HKS flywheel, and a MAZDASPEED 4:3 crown wheel on Custom full spool Locker. The 26b engine however, has a lot of work done to it. We recommend checking out Mad Mike’s website for those details.
Mike adds on his website that the vehicle is putting down 534 horsepower to the wheels!
