Celebrating the exclusive UK premiere of its fastest production car ever, the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 will make its official debut in the United Kingdom at the annual Goodwood Festival of Speed this weekend.
“As one of the biggest gatherings of motorsports and supercar enthusiasts in the world, the Goodwood Festival of Speed is the ideal venue for Chevrolet to display its performance car capabilities,” said Chevrolet Global Brand Chief Alan Batey. “We are particularly excited to premiere the all-new Corvette Z06 to our UK fans in addition to a very special surprise.”
In addition to the appearance of the The 650 hp Z06 Coupe, Chevrolet will also showcase a special exhibit of Stingrays from the past and present at the Festival of Speed which begins today and will run through this Sunday, June 28th. The special surprise that Alan Batey is alluding to is still a mystery, but with rumors swirling with the release of a teaser video, festival goers are likely to get their first gander of the all-new 2016 Camaro as well.
Alan Batey mentioned, ”The Goodwood Festival of Speed is the ideal venue for Chevrolet to display its performance car capabilities”. In fact, the Z06 will make a run in the Hillclimb as part of the 2015 Michelin Supercar Run demonstrating the best of the iconic car’s performance in its 62 year history.
Festivities will include the Chevrolet Café to quench visitors thirst and appetites throughout the weekend. Additionally, there will be a warmup celebrating the “Road to Le Mans” with a best of videos featuring the Chevrolet Corvette Z06 and key members of the Corvette Racing team, such as British racing driver and four time American Le Mans Series winner Oliver Gavin, on its European YouTube channel.
