If you love Project CARS, but don’t like all of the frustrating bugs that still need to be worked out, or if Gran Turismo and Forza Motorsport have you wanting more, don’t worry, because Assetto Corsa will be coming to Xbox One and PS4. Of course, there’s no official release date, but new content will be showcased this year at the huge gaming expo that is E3.
For those of you that haven’t heard of Assetto Corsa, it is a bona fide racing simulator with stunning, realistic graphics and interactive features that made its debut on PC on December 19th, 2014. Since the release, the game has racked up rave reviews from players, gaming critics, and racecar drivers, saying that it’s one of the most interactive racing simulator yet. One critic even called it the benchmark for driving simulation and modding.
Yesterday, 505 Games announced a partnership with Italian developer, Kunos Simulazioni, to produce current generation console versions of the game. When the game is released for Xbox One and PS4, it will feature over 100 life-like, high-performance cars such as the Team Lotus 98T, the Pagani Zonda R, the Ferrari LaFerrari, the Mercedes C9 and the McLaren MP4-12C GT3 racer. Over 20 track configurations including famed courses such as Silverstone Circuit, Circuit de Spa-Francorchamps, Autodromo Nazionale Monza, and Nürburgring-Nordschleife will be featured as well.
One of the coolest parts of the game is the single and multiplayer racing modes, with customizable race weekends, and the option to preset challenges or dive into full-scale career mode. We really can’t wait to try this game out on a console, as we don’t have a dedicated gaming PC in the meantime. It’s going to be a while, but we’ll provide some updates as soon as we hear about them.
