The Pontiac Grand Prix is a nice car, yes, but it usually doesn’t demand that second glance when out in traffic or dropping the kiddos off at school. Well, this isn’t your run-of-the-mill Grand Prix by any means. Check out this insane Pontiac let off some serious steam, err, smoke.

This particular Pontiac has been converted to all-wheel-drive and is good for 1200 horsepower at the crank and 950WHP. The car isn’t completed just yet and is still in the prototype stage. Custom turbo kits and exhaust by Turbo Dynamics (TD) provide added power and airflow. The stock PCM (ECU) has been tuned by Ben at Turbo Dynamics using HP Tuners‘ software.

Cosmetically, the car hasn’t been finalized including wiring, and it is still testing different hardware combinations. Stopping power comes from carbon ceramic brakes, and gauges take over the interior calculating boost, air/fuel ratio, gears and the whole nine for both engines.

The walk-around gives an up close and personal look at this one-of-a-kind Grand Prix inside and out. According to the video description, the plan is to have bigger snails and higher stall converters for next year. Also, the car’s aesthetics will be complete, and it will feature many more upgrades.

So far this year, the car has run a 9.72 second quarter-mile and hit 0-60 miles per hour in a quick 1.8 seconds on slicks. The car propels to 0-100 mph in an impressive 4.4 seconds. The 1/8th mile was conquered at 6.21 seconds at 112 mph, but the rear transmission lost 4th gear.
