You would think that 707hp would be enough for pretty much everyone, but we knew it wouldn’t be long before tuners across the nation started breaking into the the untapped potential of the Hellcat Challenger. Well now, one tuner – Serious HP,  from Houston, Texas, is claiming that they have broken the 800hp mark on a Hellcat from a simple e85 conversion!

Another common name for e85 is “Poor Man’s Race Gas!” You see, just because e85 is a renewable fuel and is environmentally friendly doesn’t mean that it doesn’t have the possibility for serious horsepower gains. e85 carries with it a 105 octane rating and in some cases can perform better than race gas with a 110 octane rating. E85 is great at cooling the engine, which allows tuners to throw more compression and spark at the engine. So for forced induction systems, there really is a lot of horsepower gains to be had. And in the case of this Hellcat the Houston-based company was able to push the Hellcat to 706rwhp, equating to roughly 830hp at the crank.

But that might only be the tip of the iceberg.

The company has pointed out that they are limited by the shift points of the Transmission Control Module (TCM). Once HP Tuners‘ TCM support becomes available they will be able to truly unleash the tune and see what the supercharged Hemi can do.

On a posting on their Facebook they said, “The Hellcat has been awesome to play with and we look forward to doing even more with them.”  The question is, how high can they go on just an E85 conversion? Do you think 1000hp is attainable from the factory engine?
