When we hear the word gymkhana, we instantly think of Ken Block.
For those of you who live under a rock and have not heard of that name, here is a little insight: Ken Block is a well established professional rally driver in part with the Hoonigan Racing Division, formerly known as Monster World Rally Team. Whether you’re familiar with the team names or not, it’s a pretty sure bet that most gearheads have definitely seen the viral videos of Block’s crazy power-sliding antics all over the internet. People all around the world are inspired and in awe of his skills and try to recreate his videos and produce their own. Google ‘Ken Box’ for proof.
The video takes place on a frozen lake. Yes, a frozen lake, which requires studded tires for traction.
The Lexus seems to be well set up with a roll cage, race bucket seat, and a giant wing in the rear. The highlight of the video has to be the sofa getting dragged around by the drift car. The Wide Open Drift Team across the pond sure knows how to have fun. The IS is definitely set up for thrashing and we’re not sure if we call this Gymkhana, but it definitely looks fun sliding around on a lake…probably the most fun anyone has had on the lake during the winter.
