Video: ’52 Pickup “Vicarious” Takes Best Truck Honors At SEMA 2014

Embodying street rod heritage, we happened to catch a beautiful pickup truck. Posted by ” target=”_blank”>ScottieDTV, this 1952 Chevrolet Pickup truck, dubbed Vicarious is silky smooth inside and out.

Garnering the Gran Turismo Awards’ Best Truck award, Vicarious is an eye-full of orange goodness. Settling for simple design aesthetics, we couldn’t help but stare at the build that is Vicarious.

Built by HPI Customs in Manitoba, Canada, they are a fairly new shop specializing in custom fabrication, computer aided design, and Pro-Touring style street rods and muscle cars. Their vision is tastefully done with Vicarious, which is loud in all the right ways.

The orange paint screams for attention, but it doesn’t shortchange anyone who sees Vicarious. Inside and out, this truck is pure bliss.

Riding on a C4 Corvette suspension, Z06 brakes, and powered by a supercharged small-block Chevy with EFI and methanol injection, Vicarious is fast as it is stunning in looks. Project Vicarious was sponsored by several companies including: Dakota Digital, Vortech Superchargers, MSD, Chevrolet, and MB Quart Audio to name a few.

Power hits the road with a paddle shifted General Motors Performance Parts Supermatic transmission. Inside, the interior is plush and includes a full CNC machined dash layout.

In total, there were 46 sponsors and partners who contributed to Vicarious’ build. That’s a lot of sponsors for a single project. However, we can’t argue with the results as the finished product has payed off.

What are your thoughts on Vicarious? Would you have done anything different? Be sure to leave your comments below. Also, don’t forget to check out HPI Customs Facebook page.
