Our friends over at RK Motors Charlotte have truly found a rare import. As revered as the Toyota Supra is, RK Motors is currently auctioning a 1982 Toyota Celica Supra with only 33, 717 actual miles.
Celica and Supra are usually associated with two separate entities with Toyota but here is the exception to it all. This is the wellspring that gave rise to the JZA80 Supra. This particular Celica Supra is a true time capsule that drives like it was 1982 all over again.
Under the hood rests the original 5M-GE 2.75-liter DOHC inline six-cylinder engine, which has a power output of 145 horsepower and 155 lbs/ft of torque in stock trim. However, both these power numbers are a bit higher thanks to the CarTech intercooled turbo kit with adjustable boost control.
Despite the vehicle being 33 years old, the engine bay remains flawless, full of colorm and shows minimal wear and tear to the motor. Not to mention, the Celica Supra has an MSD Ignition system and K&N induction.
Uniquely, the 1982 Celica Supra is different in that it is the only year to feature a vacuum-advanced distributor and 9-to-0 volt output air flow meter. Rust-free and well-preserved, this Celica Supra utilizes a W58 5-speed manual transmission that powers an 8-inch Toyota rearend.
The factory-spec Lotus-tuned suspension helps keep this Celica Supra grounded and also includes variable assisted power rack-and-pinion steering. For stopping power, the Celica Supra has a power disc brake package with upgraded pads.
Catering to its classic look, the Celica Supra was fitted with 16-inch Epsilon wheels that are wrapped with 225/50R16 Bridgestone Potenzas.
Let’s not forget about the interior, which is in immaculate shape and has no signs of weather damage or age. The velvet-esque interior has been preserved beautifully and even has an updated audio system to play your latest tunes. Is the asking price of $24,900 reasonable for this low-mileage Celica Supra?
