Carroll Shelby was a legendary American automotive designer, race car driver and business entrepreneur. Our friends at RK Motors Charlotte have acquired one of his gems: a pristine 1962 Shelby Cobra 50th Anniversary.

This black beauty is quite rare, as it is 1 of only 50 Shelby-built 50th Anniversary Cobra roadsters. The Cobra had only one owner prior, who only traveled 350 miles in it cumulatively.

For any car enthusiast, this is a rare find for any classic car collector. With the untimely passing of Carroll Shelby in 2012, the Cobra marked one of his many accolades in his storied life.

A 289ci V8 engine is under the hood, packing a whopping 525hp and 435lb/ft of torque. Even the engine was stamped with an official CSX 8983 identification number during installation by the experts at Shelby American.

A four-speed manual transmission coupled with a Dana 44 rear end, Spicer half shafts and a Shelby aluminum casing help put all the horsepower cranking to the wheels. Furthermore, the Cobra includes rack-and-pinion steering, Baer power disc brakes and fully independent suspension.

As for the interior, the SA Rosso red leather interior complements the black paint. The dash layout has many gauges and switches, but it is quite simple overall.

With its vintage looks, high performance output and modernized features, this rare 50th Anniversary Cobra is a tribute to an automotive visionary. We were truly blessed to have Carroll Shelby share his vision to the masses.
