Named the Red Demon, Boostin Performance’s ultimate four-cylinder Eagle Talon took to the Jumbolair Airport in Anthony, Florida with cruel intentions. Screaming down the tarmac, ” target=”_blank”>That Racing Channel posted the Red Demon setting a new half-mile world record for four-cylinder engines at 213 mph.
Sponsored by WannaGOFAST.com, the 1/2 mile event was no big deal for the Red Demon. Under the hood, the Red Demon has a fully custom Mitsubishi 4G63 1997cc four-cylinder engine built by Boostin Performance.
What’s more, it has a Kelford 280 cam, a 75mm billet throttle body, ID 2000 fuel injectors, and the big power player, a Precision 7285 turbocharger with 70 psi boost. In short, this high horsepower Diamond-Star Motors engine is a fully-fledged and beastly four-cylinder.
To note, Diamond-Star Motors (DSM) was a joint venture between Mitsubishi and Chrysler, founded in 1985. DSM refers to original first and second-generation Mitsubishi Eclipse, Eagle Talon, and Plymouth Laser, which all shared the same Diamond-Star Motors vehicle platform.
Not to mention, the Red Demon has consistently clocked quarter-mile times in the seven-second range. So, Boostin Performance wanted to see how it would perform over a half-mile.
Hitting 213 mph will most definitely need a safety parachute
What they witnessed was insane power and speed, and a deployed parachute. Boostin Performance clearly has done its homework with tuning the Red Demon. This highly modified Eagle Talon showcases that it is not all about having more cylinders. This is one next-level four-cylinder… at 1,200 that’s a crazy at 300 hp per cylinder.
Nonetheless, Boostin Performance has done what did not seem possible with only a four-cylinder engine. What are your thoughts on this speedy Eagle Talon? Feel free to comment below.
