Formula Drift Series professional driver, Ryan Tuerck, enjoys his job competing against other professionals at the race tracks in his Portland Speed Industries built 2013 Scion FR-S for Retaks Backpacks and Maxxis Tires. But, he will never lose interest in enjoying his main passion at heart, street drifting.
Both his competition and his street FR-S’s share in common a Brian Crower built 2JZ powertrain, and they are both kitted in both versions of the Rocket Bunny kit. But just comparing the two parked side-by-side, the street FR-S looks to be more aggressive than his competition one.
However, comparing the two is not the main talking point of his new build. It’s about how he conquers new roads, breaking necks and shredding tires in his new 2JZ powered Scion FR-S street build.
What’s the best way to put the new project to the test? This might remind you of his old video of his Retaks/Maxxis Tires FR-S on the ” target=”_blank”>Oregon Trail.
But in the new video, he takes on the windy and steep mountain roads of Burke Mountain, Vermont, to break in his roaring 600hp Brian Crower 2JZ on elevations of up to 2,000 vertical feet.
Followed by his test runs, he invited a fellow Formula Drift driver and BC Racing teammate Pat Goodin for some sketchy tandem runs. Tuerck loaned Goodin his 1JZ powered S13 that made them conquer the Vermont tougé together with his new Scion FR-S street project. Check it out, if you haven’t!
