SEMA 2014: Vaughn Gittin Jr. and RTR Team Up With American Muscle

Just ahead of the start of the SEMA show Vaughn Gittin Jr pulled the wraps off his 2015 Mustang RTR lineup, complete with specs. We debuted that story as it broke, and Gittin says of the 2015 package, “We’re following the same recipe that’s been so successful with us and our dealer cars.”Here’s the details in summary:

SPEC 1 cars will focus on appearance. These cars are all about the RTR attitude and style.

SPEC 2 will have all the appearance of the SPEC 1 but will add suspension, tuning, and exhaust (developed with Magnaflow). These cars will have plenty of go to match the good looks and Gittin says they should be able to handle the street, drifting, drag racing, or the road course. It’s a versatile platform for any enthusiast. “Our goal is a very diverse car, some people get it, and some don’t and that’s fine. Our cars can drift, drive on the street, and they can drag race.”

RTR will also debut three new styles of wheels this year, as well as two new HRE wheels, which will allow for even more customization.

Of course the talk of the Ford Out Front display was Gittin’s RTR SPEC 5. This car was decked out in plenty of performance goodies, full RTR appearance and an aggressive wide body kit. Our own video host, Jessica Barton, got to take a ride with Gittin around the Ford Out Front display, and needless to say the footage of Jessica enjoying her time in the passenger seat is priceless.

We’ve been in the Mustang scene since 2009 with Mustang RTR. It made sense for us to work with a group that is so professional and has great customer service. It makes sense for us to have one outlet in the aftermarket.

Gittin says, “We’ve been working on these cars for a year and half.” The RTR brand also recently joined forces with Mustang retail juggernaut American Muscle. “We’ve been in the Mustang scene since 2009 with Mustang RTR. It made sense for us to work with a group that is so professional and has great customer service. It makes sense for us to have one outlet in the aftermarket,” says Gittin of the relationship with AM.

AM will be the exclusive outlet for all RTR parts, so if you can’t get a RTR Mustang through your local Ford dealer, you can order the pats and build it yourself at home. It’s going to be an exciting year for RTR, American Muscle, and Vaughn Gittin Jr. We can’t wait for the RTR cars to hit the streets after the first of the year.
