One of the many reasons we love the performance industry is the fact that if you can’t find it from the factory, you can just build it. Take for instance this 2006 Dodge Charger. Someone, somewhere wanted Dodge to unveil the return of the Charger with a factory optioned Dodge Cummins diesel. That’s right, a diesel Dodge Charger.

When this didn’t happen they just decided to rip out the factory engine and somehow shoehorn a 12-valve Cummins 6BT 5.9L Diesel engine into the Charger. They didn’t stop there, they also found a way to keep the NV4500 five-speed manual transmission bolted to the diesel engine.

Watching this Frankenstein Charger do an impressive burnout is very odd. Seeing all the black fumes pour out of the exhaust is almost surreal, but the sound is what we found most odd. It sounds as if at any moment a large diesel truck is going to burst in to frame and slam in to the Charger.

There’s not much else we can say about this Charger. Other than “well done” by whoever was able to pull off this impressive build. But we do have to take a moment and respond to one ” target=”_blank”>YouTube comment: “My Prius sounds better.”

Trust us… No it doesn’t.
