We, recently, stumbled across the amazing driving of Teemu Peltola in his AMG w203 Wagon (Black Smoking Racing). Peltola has become a world class drifter all while proving that a diesel can hang with the big boys. Yeah, take a minute and think about all that info we just said.

AMG, Wagon, Diesel, Drifting and World Class

Have you ever seen these 5 words paired together before? Peltola started out in ‘09 driving in Finland to prove you could drift in a diesel. What he actually did was take home the championship in ’09 and establish that his diesel and he should be taken seriously.

Flash forward a few years and enter the new w203 wagon powered by an OM606 diesel. The OM606 is an inline 3.0 liter six cylinder with a double overhead camshaft. The engine breathes through an Eaton MP90 super charger which is feed by a Holset HX52 (65/70/#16). If that isn’t enough oxygen, then a little nitrous is used to really make short work of the tires.

Behind the engine is a highly modified E55 AMG 5 speed automatic transmission with a manual valve body. The suspension is all one off. The front suspension is built by SSp and features K-sport coilover shocks. The rear has a torsional rear axle setup found on a Toyota Supra.

The interior of the car is all business too. A custom aluminum dash by SSp has a wooden vinyl overlay and houses the Boost pressure, oil pressure, water temperature, oil temperature and gear oil temperature gauges. There is a fancy snap-off steering wheel and Peltola’s office chair is an OMP seat.

No matter how you look at it, this is one heck of a unique setup. But really the question is how well does he do with this new fancy car?

Well, since changing to an entirely new car, they have been plagued with problems. They will find themselves in the top battling for first and then something lets go. So, the new car hasn’t quite offered the same successes the old one has, but with the successes they have had in the past, we are sure they will get everything straightened out and Peltola will find himself celebrating with some champagne!
