Video: Fire Fighters Don’t Get Concept Behind The “Burnout Contest”

“Smoke but no fire”!!!! How could this be? Well that is exactly the question local fire fighters asked when called out to fight,”what else”, but a fire. As smoke filled the air and sky in the surrounding neighborhoods, the locals thought someone’s house was on fire and the local Fire Department was called.

All they knew was that they saw smoke and it kept coming. After several calls to the fine men of the local fire department, they were dispatched, geared up, and ready to save the day.

Upon arriving, there was a lot of smoke, no doubt about that. There was also a lot of confusion for our heroes of the day.

“Is this considered a legal burn?” Uh, yeah, but it’s not that kind of burn.

As the fire fighters pull in they see the smoke, but amazingly no fire to be found. Not even a spark. What could be producing all this smoke in all shades, from white to black?

Literally speechless, the fire department was perplexed and trying to figure out what was going on. After some investigation and questioning a few in the crowd, it was found that RPM Powersports was holding their annual burnout contest and filming their yearly 1320 Video. The firefighters asked, “Is this a legal burn?”, clearly not getting the gist of what a “burnout” is all about.

So all’s well that ends well. Fortunately for the locals no homes or businesses were destroyed. Despite repeated offers for the firetruck to perform a burnout, they politely declined and were on their way. More than 25 burnouts made up the tally, not bad. Our hope is the fire department picked up a few tips on how to do a kickass burnout so their journey was not fruitless. Well, all we can do is hope.

Along with cars, I have always loved photography, writing, and graphic arts. However when attending college I did not pursue my passions. I played it safe and majored in business and marketing. After a few years in this field I determined this was not for me and began to pursue a writing and photography career. Landing me here with Power Automedia. I am also now the business owner of Bridgett's Toxic Creations. Specializing in automobile showboards, custom license plates, logos, and website headers. Living and breathing the Mustang life everyday in everyway. To be able to work in my field of passion is amazing and fun experience everyday. The best part is sharing a common passion with others.
