Project Titan kicked off this week with the potential support of some 79,000 Facebook fans. That’s because Nissan is asking all its social media followers to help them build the ultimate Nissan Titan in the company’s second crowd-sourced build in just two years.
But Project Titan isn’t just building any modified full-size pickup. It’s actually building the ultimate off-road truck for the Wounded Warrior Project to send with two alumni on the wilderness adventure of a lifetime in Alaska during July of 2014.
The two veterans, David Guzman and Kevin McMahon will take to the Alaskan wilderness in July for a multi-day adventure that will not only test their strength and perseverance, but also that rugged capabilities of the Nissan Titan. Nissan will be documenting the men’s journey to release as a YouTube series in September.
“This is going to be one incredible adventure,” Fred Diaz, senior vice president, Nissan Sales & Marketing and Operations U.S. stated in a recent press release about the project. “The Nissan Titan is already well-equipped to tackle a trip into the wilderness, but we are going to push this custom-built version to its limits to give these fearless Warriors all they can handle and memories they will never forget.”
So where do you come in? Well, that’s simple. All you have to do is head over to the Nissan Trucks Facebook page and give it a “Like.” From there, you can start voting on utility, performance and design modifications chosen by the Nissan team to give their Titan the best off-road capabilities possible.
Every couple of days, a new option will be released for voting with numbers tallied after just 24 hours. Nissan will then begin building the truck based on which option won the vote for that particular category. Along the way, they will keep fans up to date on the build’s progress through exclusive photos and videos on the Nissan Trucks Facebook page.
If you’re interested in participating in this amazing cause and helping to build one killer off-road Titan, be sure to check out the Nissan Truck Facebook page today and get your vote in!
