So, originally we came across the video below of a diesel powered mini bike. Sounded like a really cool idea and one that we may do here. But that got us so far off track that for the next “umpteen” hours we were searching for frames, engines, torque convertors, etc.  You name it, we were searching for it. We virtually built probably 3 different bikes and were just going crazy trying to figure out how little we could be in one of these.

Of course it didn’t help that the guy who did the original video, had made a photo of him cruising around his neighborhood (see above). Then we came across a few more and that just got our minds racing. We have been looking for something little and fun, but a diesel that we could get from point to point at the track. This could very well be our answer.

Well anyways, after spending way too much time searching for parts, we realized that the sun had set hours ago and we actually needed to get some work done. So, we stopped and went back to work, but never really stopped thinking about these damn mini bikes.

Here we are a couple days later and we are back on the mini bike issue. This time, we are working because we are sharing some of our finds with you! We figured that if we got this wrapped up in this stuff, you would probably get a kick out of it and decided to put together a list of some of the cool videos we found.

The best we can tell, all of these are motorcycles are home brewed concoctions that run on diesel! While this isn’t your typical story for us (missing at least 2 weeks), we couldn’t help but share what some of our two wheel diesel comrades are doing.
