Video: ROUSHCharger Stage 2 Dyno With LateModelRestoration.com

Modern Mustang enthusiasts have more choices for increasing their engine output than ever before. Among those choices are a variety of supercharger systems. For Coyote powered Fords some of the most popular supercharger upgrades are those based on the Eaton TVS rotor package, like the ROUSHCharger.

The ROUSH Performance ROUSHCharger 2.3L kit for Coyote Mustangs has been thoroughly tested and proven on everything from daily drivers, to cars making regular drag strip passes like our own Project Silver Bullet. In it’s most basic Form this kit promises to deliver 575 hp in a package that can be bolted on by almost any enthusiast in just a few hours. In Stage 2 form the horsepower jumps to an impressive 625 hp at the crank with the addition of just a few bolt-on changes, and an update to the tune. The system comes with a three year warranty and is expandable up to the stage three upgrades that push power all the way up to 675 hp. At that 675 hp point, the Coyote engine is pretty much at it’s limit without some better internals.

Left: Before the VMP Tune. Right: After VMP Tuning.

LateModelRestoration.com put one of the Stage 2 systems on their 2014 Mustang GT project car. Using the supplied ROUSH tune they were able to squeeze 505 hp at the rear tires out of their 2014 Coyote, and 435 ft-lbs of torque. Feeling like there was more in the setup, they turned to Justin Starkey at VMP Tuning, who used his expertise with the 2.3 liter Eaton TVS and tuning to push the power further. The end result was over 15 hp more jumping the numbers up to 523 hp at the rear tires, but more impressively nearly 60 more ft-lbs of torque for 493 ft-lbs at the tires.

Incredible horsepower, great drivability, response, and reliability, make the ROUSH Performance Stage 2 ROUSHCharger system a great package for an 2011-14 Mustang GT. You can check them out on the ROUSH Performance web-site, or at LateModelRestoration.com.
