New SRT “Driven” Commercial Reminds Us Of Our Roots

dodge-challenger-srt8If you’re reading this, a publication directed toward enthusiasts, you probably aren’t among the major automakers’ target market. Let’s face it, the major car companies simply aren’t as interested in us motor heads as they are in the every day consumer. Can you really blame them for directing their sales toward the greatest pay day? Luckily for us Dodge’s Street and Racing Technology division, or SRT for short, is 100% dedicated to appeasing those with sick and twisted minds like ours that do nothing but revolve around the automobile.

The latest marketing venture from the performance division does a good job of using emotional appeal to tug at our heart strings. If you take a close listen to what they’re saying you may even hear a situation or two that you’ve been a part of. For example sometimes you may let “your emotions take the driver seat, allowing reason to become the passenger.” Let’s try to not get too carried away with that one, but we’ve all found a time when we became one with the long, skinny pedal on the right… maybe even a bit too much so for our own good.

2014-grand-cherokee-03-0213-lgnThey continue to portray their roots as getting away from daily routine and choosing to take “the long way home,” another literal situation that we’ve all fallen into at one point or another. With the killer lineup that SRT puts out year to year we would have to say that this commercial is on point. Top to bottom, from Viper to Jeep you know if it’s an SRT product it’s going to be something worth talking about, whether you like them or not. Keep doing it big, guys. We’ll be watching! What vehicle is in your roots? Tell us below in the comments section, we want to hear from you!
