Borgeson Universal has a slogan: “Steering you forward”. That slogan refers to the fact that Borgeson provides universal steering joints and steering gears for musclecars, and those gears help steer you forward – both in direction and in technology. Their steering gear conversions put newer steering box technology into older, classic cars that desperately need it. These conversions put a modern steering feel to the classic musclecar, giving a quicker ratio and a firmer feel.

For 15 years now, Borgeson has been holding an annual car show to benefit various causes and to share what they do with the public. Most recently, they’ve been steering the educational future forward for three young children who lost their father too young to a motorcycle accident, raising over $27,000 in the past six years for the “Joe Grantmeyer’s Children’s Education Fund to help send Joe’s three children to college.

Last October, the 15th Annual Hot Rod Gathering and Open House at Borgeson in Torrington, Connecticut, saw roughly 300 cars. The show is not limited to year, make, or model, and includes raffle prizes and awards, food and music, and a shop tour of Borgeson. Their next show is slated for October 26th, 2014, and they expect the same sort of turnout that they’ve had at past shows. Sales Manager Jeff Grantmeyer said, “We pick a date late in the season as to have one last hurrah before winter comes and to not interfere with any long running existing shows.”

That makes for a great reason to get your hot rod or musclecar out for one last show just before hibernating for the cold, Connecticut, winter.
