Eric’s Muscle Cars took a break from restoring classic muscle cars to road worthy condition to restore this 1974 Ford Bronco. While Today’s SUVs are primarily built for soccer moms to shuttle their kids to school or for businessmen to drive on their commute to work, this not the case for the SUV of the 70’s.

Back then SUVs where a man’s toy, they were built for one purpose: off-road adventure. The 1974 Ford Bronco was a real sport-utility vehicle: It had two doors, a minimal interior, locking front hubs and a small block Ford V8. It was small and not a practical grocery getter but it performed well off road.

This 1974 Bronco is powered by a hardy Ford 302 ci V8. It has been given a 3-1/2-inch lift with new shocks, a new track bar and a front end alignment which allows it to tackle rough terrain. The automatic transmission has been rebuilt, and a front disk brake conversion kit was installed to help stop the truck when needed.

The interior has been fully restored with a white leather rear bench and white front bucket seats. We are curious as to how this Bronco will perform in the desert or in the mud. Broncos are rugged machines and are a true sport-utility vehicle built to handle the meanest terrain and not chauffeur kids to school.
