Since its debut, the current 2013 C7 Corvette has been selling like hot cakes. The new 2015 Z06 Corvette is sure to do no different as Chevy performance has cranked up the volume to decibel levels never seen before throughout the production performance vehicle world.

2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06

The 2015 Z06 is poised to claim track records previously held by the ZR1 Corvette. This feat has been made possible by features such as the all-aluminum frame (technology shared with all C7 platforms) which also has allowed Chevrolet to offer a removable top in the Z06 package, something which has never been possible before due to chassis rigidity issues.

Additionally, the Z06 offers consumers three different engine operating modes including four cylinders with no boost, eight cylinders with no boost, and a gut-wrenching eight cylinders with boost. This means customers can experience excellent fuel efficiency when they need it, but world-class performance when they want it.

Providing the additional CFM is a positive displacement supercharger placed atop the new LT4, based on the LT1 motor which debuted in the 2013 C7 Corvette. This is the first production supercharger to be offered on the new Gen V engine platform, which also includes features such as direct injection, only further catapulting the Z06 above the competition.

The Z06 will offer two different transmissions which will help transplant the power to the pavement. These include the current 7 speed manual transmission with rev match technology, and a new 8 speed automatic transmission, which GM claims will be competitive with the paddle-shifted dual clutch competition from other manufacturers.

It’s safe to say the new Z06 will be making waves and providing thrills to customers when it hits the market in early 2015!
